Open Pakscape, navigate to your CoD/main folder and find the aitype folder in pak5. Drag the aitype folder on to your desktop so you can edit it.
2. Suppose for this example that we wish to create a map with friendly ai as German with KAR98s, and Americans as enemies using M1 carbines. In the aitype folder you have on your desktop, find axis_wehrmacht_soldier_kar98k.gsc. Open it with notepad and find the lines -
self.team = "axis";
setspawnerteam("axis");
Simply change axis to allies like so -
self.team = "allies";
setspawnerteam("allies");
3. Repeat the above step changing the same lines in the ally_airborne_carbine.gsc from allies to axis.
4. Create a new pk3 file with a folder called aitype in it. Copy the two gsc files into this folder. Name the pk3 something like 'playergerman' and save it.
5. Copy the playergerman pk3 into Cod/main. Now you can create and test your map.
Notes:
**For each aitype you wish to have in your map you need to change each one from allies to axis or vice versa.
**In order for the player to be German you need to set up the viewsleeves and weapons in your map gsc file. for example -
level.player setViewmodel( "xmodel/viewmodel_hands_whermact" );
level.player takeallweapons();
level.player giveweapon("kar98k");
level.player giveWeapon("mp44");
level.player giveWeapon("stielhandgranate");
level.player switchToWeapon("mp44");
**make sure you remove +setdeveloper from your shortcut or have it set to '0' as this can interrupt the map when its running.
**If you wish to play normal cod dont forget to remove the 'playergerman.pk3 from your main folder! When your map is finalised you can avoid the need to do this by running it from a seperate folder using a bat. file.
**This is not in any way politically motivated. Personally, I would not make a map where you play as SS because they were mainly volunteers and knew what they were doing. The majority of the German army were conscripts who would rather have been at home with the wife. The allies died for a cause; the German Army died for nothing. Anyway, enough of the political banter. Enjoy!
